Dr. Bata Brazil Ltda was founded in 2021 with the aim of providing Brazilian and South American farmers and the feed industry with high end feed additives and excellent service to improve the health status of animals as well as the sustainability and profitability of farming.
Based on the 30-year-old tradition of research and development of Dr. Bata Ltd in Europe, the manufacturing site in Chapeco (Santa Catarina state of Brazil), will harness the knowledge of our European headquarter and will provide more flexible and personalized solutions to our partners.
Located in the Flávio Baldissera Industrial District, the production unit has approximately 3,000 square meters of built area, on a plot of land next to Vetanco do Brasil Ltda. Dr. Bata's products have been sold on the Brazilian market by Vetanco since 2011.
The creation of the production site is complemented by the research laboratory planned to be established jointly with Santa Catarina State University, in which we plan to investigate the challenges of animal health and feed safety in Brazil and Latin America and to develop products based on this.
The investments in Brazil were realized with the Foreign Market Growth Support program of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the HEPA Hungarian export promotiont agency.

The title of the project: Strengthening the Brazilian market of Dr. Bata Ltd. by setting up a factory in the target country.
The consortium leader of the project is Dr. Bata Ltd., a company founded by Hungarian chemical engineers in 1987 with the aim of producing feed additives using new fermentation processes. The new animal health challenges of the last 30 years have led to the development of many patented products based on plant extracts.
As the next step in the company's development, it plans to expand its processing and laboratory capacities through the purchase of its own site in South America, in Brazil, which is the largest livestock-breeding country on the continent. The consortium member is a newly founded Brazilian subsidiary, whose 100% owner is Dr. Bata Ltd, and the persons responsible for its operation are all professionals and excellences approved by the Consortium Leader.
With the investment, we intend to carry out the final formulation on site. We can reduce production costs by partially using local raw materials. Production takes place only based on market demand, so the need for working capital financing is reduced. At the same time, the production of the valuable part of the product remains in Hungary. The active ingredient is still European, with Hungarian origin to a large extent. We can respond more flexibly to customer requests because the active ingredient of the product is available on site.
Brazil plays a central role in the continent's agriculture, so we have to pay a lot of attention to it in order to sell our products successfully. One of the tools for this is the establishment of a local research and supply base, which would help us tailor our products to local needs and challenges. Almost all farm animals in the country have a significant number of individuals, so we can also meet chicken, pig and cattle colonies and integrations of outstanding size.
According to our experience so far, our products work with very good efficiency in these farms. Compared to other competing companies present in the country (DSM, Kemin, Innovad, Alltech), our products already offer higher efficiency in many cases, which we could further develop with the help of a local research and supply base, taking into account local characteristics.
On March 2, 2021, Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, handed over the certificate of support to Gábor Bata, the owner of Dr. Bata Ltd., at the company's headquarters in Ócsa.
